Hello!

Somehow you've managed to find my little corner of the internet, and I'm quite flattered. I'd love for you to stay awhile, take a look around, and maybe even say hello.

I'm simple. I look at my world differently than most, and I try to bring that perspective to my photography. I try to capture life's moments with a soft, fresh take.

My love for photography came from my love of light. A warm summer evening and a sunset, that's all I need to be in my element. I knew early on in high school that my dream career would be to own my own business. By combining my love for photography and business I was able to build my dream. I've been going strong since 2009 and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

But I'm not all business! I'd love for you to get to know the real me! A year ago I married my high school sweetheart, Josh. He's my everything. We currently live in Clovis, CA...but that's all about to change. In a few short months the Army will be moving us to Alaska! I'm nervous and excited all in one. It's going to be gorgeous...and cold. I'm so excited to bring my business to a whole new state.

So that's a little bit about me, but I'd love to learn more about you! Say hello, I'd love to chat about business, photography, or just life in general...

Internet Etiquette – FACEBOOK: Tips for young photographers

Most young photographers have a business Facebook, they probably have a personal Facebook as well. How do you go about operating the two? Carefully. Grammar, spelling, tact/taste, and just plain common sense seem to be a thing of the past. I’m a huge believer in merging my personal life and my business, but there’s a...

Senior Portrait Posing Tips

So, I’m often asked how I pose my clients. Do I place them into every single pose? What do I say to them? What do I do if they’re uncomfortable in front of a camera? There is no straight-forward answer because quite simply, every single client is different. I do however, have a few rules...

My business and me.

I didn’t always love photography. I don’t have a “camera in my hand since I was little” background story in my “About Me” section. I didn’t grow up wanting to be a photographer. It all started when my parents bought me a point and shoot and I would take pictures of flowers. That’s it. Just...

I love simplicity. And fresh starts.

Becoming engaged has made me really think about my business priorities. What do I want to shoot? How do I want to shoot it? How do I really want to run my business? So many questions! The conclusion I came to is this… I want to be true to myself as a photographer, as a woman,...

Keeping Things Organized – Business Tips

I love to keep my life organized. I also love to have physical copies of documents. I know, old school, right? Well, call me old-fashioned, but it’s the best system for me. I thought I would share a little bit of my accounting/bookkeeping/client organization process with you today. Sound good? Ok, here we go… At...

Editing: Before and After

So, I LOVE “before and after” things. Really, I do. I could look at pictures of things before they were transformed, and after, all day long. One of the questions I am asked the most is, “How do you get your pictures so dreamy/soft/blah blah blah (insert word here)”. Well, I am a firm believer...
